There is no evidence-based time of day that is best for every NAD-related product. The ingredient, route, formulation, and your prescribed instructions matter more than a generic morning-versus-night rule.
Timing advice for a capsule should not be copied to an injection. Likewise, a study schedule describes what researchers tested, not a personal routine everyone should follow.

Morning or night for an oral supplement?
Start with the specific label and a pharmacist's advice about your full regimen. Manufacturers give different directions: Life Extension's cited product permits use with or without food, while Quicksilver's NAD+ Gold page gives different administration instructions. That difference illustrates why “all NAD works best on an empty stomach” is not a sound rule.
The sleep and timing review explains the morning/afternoon NMN study and why placebo-group changes matter before adopting a timing rule.
Does nighttime use affect sleep?
A plausible link between metabolism and circadian biology does not establish that a particular retail product improves sleep or should be taken at bedtime. If a new product coincides with insomnia, fatigue, or other symptoms, discuss the timing and whether to stop it with a clinician. Do not keep escalating because a marketing page promises an adjustment period.
How often should injections be used?
The frequency belongs to the prescription and clinical plan. Daily, weekly, and cycling schedules found online are not interchangeable. Clarify missed-dose instructions in advance, and do not double an amount to catch up without explicit direction. The dosage-label guide explains the other information that must match.
How long should a course last?
Ask what goal is being evaluated, when the clinician will review it, and what would justify stopping. A subscription renewal date is a billing event, not evidence that continued treatment is useful. If no meaningful outcome or reassessment plan can be named, the duration deserves another discussion before paying for a long package.
How long does NAD stay in the body?
There is no single consumer-facing number that captures every route, tissue, metabolite, and product. A short blood concentration change does not establish the duration of a clinical effect. For expectations about noticeable results, see before-and-after claims. Track actual symptoms and unwanted effects without interpreting every daily fluctuation as proof that a product is working.
